To make the most of the internet, you’ll need basic computer skills. Mountain Ash is offering one-on-one basic computer and Internet in the comfort of your own home or office.

Basic Computer and Internet – Level 1

Many older people feel that they were just born in the wrong generation to use their computer and Internet. This bare bones instruction will help eliminate the mystery of the computer! Offered in a relaxed environment with professional assistance you can work and learn at your own speed. Starting at the beginning your will learn:

  • turn on and off the computer
  • use a mouse and keyboard (No, this is not a keyboarding class,
  • although we can give you some links to on-line keyboarding sites.)
  • open and save files
  • set Internet preferences
  • choosing a browser
  • finding information on the Internet
  • Internet Safety
  • setting your Internet favorites
  • copying, cutting, and pasting
  • create a home page that meets your interests and needs
  • set-up Outlook
  • sending, receiving and reading emails
  • virus protection

Basic Computer and Internet – Level 2

Ready for the next step. This instruction is designed to help you continue learning to put the computer and Internet to good use. Now it is time to:

  • open and close software
  • maintain your computer
  • organize your hard drive
  • identify system objects
  • manage files and folders (delete, restore, copy, move and rename)
  • introduction to Windows
  • using MS Word to create and print documents
  • diskettes, CD-ROMs, USB drives
  • any instruction offered in Level 1 that you need to learn or review.

Basic Computer and Internet – Business

The computer and Internet can be an invaluable tool for small businesses. Have a Certified Novel Administrator come into your office and help you learn how to better utilize the computer. If you have any special questions or issues we will help you trouble shout them. Instruction is also offered in:

  • PC operating systems
  • office communications
  • PC accounting programs
  • MS Small Office
  • Excel/Access
  • Powerpoint (how to create, use and deliver a successful Powerpoint presentation.)
  • spreedsheets
  • on-line client database and email program
  • any instructions offered in Leve 1 or 2 that you need to learn or review
